All things grow, mature, bear fruit, and resprout elsewhere.
After six years of collaborative effort, WOHO is recognizing the need to move on. The focus of development in international osteopathy has shifted as national and regionally projects have moved forward. However, we recognize that members and the ExComm of WOHO have contributed significantly toward more positive relationships between the various streams of the global osteopathic profession. Additionally, WOHO has played a significant role in developing consensus in preparation for the WHO’s Benchmarks for Osteopathic Education, as well as having a consultative role in the regulation process in a number of countries.
Many of you have plugged into WOHO as if it were a registry, for affiliation and recognition. Perhaps that could be continued in another form – use your collective imaginations. In the meantime, we encourage you to become more involved in local, national and international development of the profession. It is an ongoing process and relies on collective individual initiative and effort. For assistant with start up issues, consider contacting the Osteopathic International Alliance.
Again, thanks on behalf of the Executive Committee for all those individuals who have contributed to the World Osteopathic Health Organization and its contribution to global osteopathic growth.
