Membership of the organization
is primarily intended for osteopaths, osteopathic physicians, educationists, researchers and scientists, whose principle professional, clinical, academic or research activity is devoted to the promotion, application or development of the Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment/OMT aspects of osteopathy or osteopathic medicine.

Subject to the criteria below the Organization may admit Full Registered Members, Full Members, Honorary Members, Associate Members, Student Members and Supporting Members. Only Full Registered, Full and Honorary Members shall be entitled to vote at any General Assembly, Annual General Meeting, Ordinary Meeting or Extraordinary meeting or to hold any official position or office within the Organization.

Full Registered Membership
of the Organization shall be open to those osteopaths and osteopathic physicians whose principle clinical, academic or research activity/practice is devoted to the promotion, application or development of the Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment/OMT aspects of osteopathy or osteopathic medicine and who fulfil all the criteria, standards and rules governing membership, including the minimum standards of education and clinical competence established by the Organization and in force at the time of the application and who have paid the annual subscription laid down from time to time by the Executive Committee.

In addition they must met one of the following criteria: holds a governmental recognized license as an osteopath or osteopathic physician in his or her Country of practice and practices within those guidelines, has graduated in good standing from an osteopathic academic institution recognized by a governmental accredited licensing body.

Full Membership of the Organization
shall be open to those osteopaths and osteopathic physicians whose principle clinical, academic or research activity/practice is devoted to the promotion, application or development of the Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment/OMT aspects of osteopathy or osteopathic medicine and who fulfil the criteria, standards and rules governing membership and who have paid the annual subscription laid down from time to time by the Executive Committee.

In addition they must have completed a comprehensive osteopathic educational program that meets the minimum standards of education and clinical competence established by the Organization and in force at the time of the application and can demonstrate that the Osteopathic profession in their country of residence and/or main clinical practice is actively advancing towards legal recognition and governmentally recognized educational programs and licensure for the practice of Osteopathy.

Honorary Membership
is reserved for distinguished Osteopaths, Osteopathic physicians, educationalists, researchers, and scientists who have given great service to the Osteopathic community and have promoted the development of osteopathy and osteopathic health care, , in an outstanding manner. Honorary members are proposed by the Executive Committee and elected, normally for life by two-thirds of the voting members.

They do not pay an annual subscription but have the right to vote in the General Assembly/Annual General Meeting, Ordinary Meeting or Extraordinary meeting and are eligible to hold any official position or office within the Organization. Honorary Membership can be terminated by a two thirds majority vote of the membership on the recommendation of the Executive Committee.

Associate Membership
is open to active or retired Osteopaths and Osteopathic Physicians whose main professional activity is/was not necessarily devoted to the promotion, application or development of the Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment/OMT aspects of osteopathy or osteopathic medicine and Physicians, academics and scientists who can demonstrate that they have contributed substantially to the field of osteopathy and its related areas of science and health care, and can comply with any criteria, standards or rules governing this category of membership in force at that time and who have paid the annual subscription as laid down by the Executive Committee. Associate Membership confers no voting rights.

Student Membership
is open only to those engaged in a structured undergraduate or postgraduate course of education and training in osteopathy or Osteopathic Medicine recognized for the time being by the Executive Committee and that would normally allow upon graduation either Full Registered or Full Membership of the organization subject to any criteria, standards or rules governing this category of membership in force at that time and payment of the annual subscription for this category of membership.
Student Membership confers no voting rights.

Supporting Membership
is open to all legal entities serving the purpose of the Company subject to any criteria, standards or rules governing this category of membership in force at that time. Applications for membership should be made to The Executive Committee who will determine the right of admission and the annual subscription. Supporting Membership confers no voting rights.

Membership Fees
The annual fee for student membership is 30USD, and for all other types of membership 100USD.
